I checked UAC and it was turned on. However, when I turned it off and then
tried to install the problem is gone and TortoiseSVN installs smoothly!
Thanks Stefan for pointing at UAC!!
Being completely new to Vista I was not aware of these new security
solution (UAC). Note that the settings of my computer was not changed by
anyone before I started to install software (I opened the the box myself
:-) and this is a regular Dell Latitude D630 with pre-installed Windows
Vista Business.
