show log never returns

I have a repository that has quite a few projects in it. It works well
except when I try to do a show log or revision graph it never returns.
When i do it and watch the machine with top I see an httpd process (or
two) taking up all the CPU. My url I use to access my repository is of
the form:

http://sourceserver.domain.com/svn/Access

The only thing this server does is host our subversion repositories.

Any help greatly appreciated
