Read "Keyword Substitution" in Chapter 3 of the SVN book again...
while it may seem a bit murky, I think you will see that this process
has nothing to do with SVN clients per se. Conceptually, keyword
substitutions are changes *to your working copies* that happen
"magically" from the perspective of the client.
