Help :)

Hello,

Could someone please recommend a course of action for me. All I want to do
is setup a revision control based software e.g. Tortoise, Perforce on a
computer with internet and have authorized people log on remotely and be
able to use the same software to add, update / change or remove files with a
revision history in a specific location on that computer. Sounds simple
right?

I installed Tortoise, and Svnserve based server and did my best but can't
get it to work. I'm not an IT guy and I don't know how to setup all this
technical stuff. Can anyone help? Am I on the wrong path?
