Missing overlay icons unless files are present/TSVN1.4.3

I upgraded to TSVN 1.4.3-8645 and now find that my working copies
do not show overlay icons if I am in folder that only contains
other folders. If I am in a folder which contains both ordinary files
and other folders, I can see overlay icons if I press F5 enough times
to get everything to update.

But no matter what I do, if a folder only contains other folders, no
overlay icons display.

I"ve tried the following things, following the advice in earlier posts:

1. Removing TSVN, rebooting, and reinstalling.
2. Removing my working copies and checking them out fresh.
3. Increasing the Registry key for Max Cached Icons to 2048.
4. Pressing F5 to get Explorer to update its display.
5. Drilling down in Windows Explorer to the lowest level of my
WC. When I used TSVN 1.3.5, this usually would fix any problems
with missing overlays, but it doesn't work any more.

I have read various posts about how some icon overlays won't appear if the
slots
are full. But I can see all the overlays I need (deleted, added, etc.)
....if I'm looking at a folder that has files in it. Otherwise, no overlays
at all.

I didn't see anything apropos in the issue tracker related to 'overlay'
except
for iDiff, which I don't think applies.

Platform is Windows XP SP2 with all current Critical Updates applied.
Our repository is SVN 1.4.2, if it matters.

Other users in my shop are still running TSVN 1.3.5 and don't have any
trouble.

Apologies for a long post, but I am out of ideas to try and would appreciate
any help.

Erik
