Not to mention...
Um 5Gb... I have that on my pocket USB device...
We have a 45Gb workspace with 100000's of mixed type files. I don't see
what the issue is.
Another workaround would be to have a workspace on the network so such
searches could be done there (seems silly to me though).

I think he means to search for a filename only, not searching the
contents of all files. In which case someone's suggestion of grabbing
all the history and searching all that is a decent answer.
