I just checked out a new working copy from the root, and it worked
for me too. I then switched to the "veggie" branch, and it failed as
described before.

But...now I am even more confused. When I checked out a working copy
from the root, and did "Show Log", I was able to see all four
revisions, even though rev 3 and 4 were made in the branch. That
isn't right, is it? In other words, when in the root, the log shows
revisions that were made on the branch. Checking "Stop on
copy/rename" has no effect.

When I switch to the branch, checking "Stop on copy/rename" hides rev
1 and 2, as I would expect. It continues to show rev 3 and 4, the
revisions I made in the branch.

I am just using file:/// for access (sorry I didn't specify that originally).

No, everything is ASCII.

I did have a space in both the URL of the repository and in the
directory name of the working copy, but I tried again with simple
paths and got the same result.

Steve

P.S. When I created the branch, I used the checkbox to "Switch
working copy to new branch/tag", rather than creating the branch then
switching to it as a separate operation.
