Hello TortoiseSVN users,
we work on a multisite software project using subversion.
Most of us are using TortoiseSVN as single user on a WinXP machine. But
we have also users with old Win-NT-4.0 machines on which TortoiseSVN
does not run (not even TortoiseSVN-1.1.7-UNICODE_svn-1.1.4.msi). But
these users have access to a Windows 2003 server. The idea is to use
TortoiseSVN on these Windows servers giving the NT 4.0 users TortoiseSVN
access.
Now my question is: Is it possible to run TortoiseSVN in this multi user
environment? Are there any drawbacks or things to consider during
installation. Our administrator does not want to install TortoiseSVN on
the Win 2003 server and risking other services might crash or having an
unstable system running.
BTW: The subversion service or the repository is not on the Windows
machine. The Windows server will only be used to run TortoiseSVN and to
store working copies there.
Thank you for your help
Horst
