If it closes immediately without showing anything in the CL box, then
svnserve doesn't even start but "exits" immediately, the connection is
closed immediately too.

So you have to check your server carefully. Make sure it even runs.
Maybe you can try with the command line client until you got it working,
then use TSVN.
