The only way I can reproduce this is if I also set the bugtraq:regex
property and that regex doesn't allow the string I entered. So if that
regex accepts only numbers, then bugtraq:number can't override this and
you see the balloon box.

Per definition, the regex has priority over bugtraq:number.
