That's not was he was asking. He has a problem with our diff script that
starts Word itself to diff word documents.

If I remember correctly, there's a problem with the different Word
versions. One version requires that line, while the other doesn't.
But there seems no way (or we haven't found it yet) to find the Word
version and execute the corresponding code for each version.

I can't really help you here - the script is not from me.
