I would appreciate if it would be able to select any in any location file for diff. It is an occasional usage pattern that pops up for me that I want to diff an "unrelated" file with a file in a working copy. What I do now is to temporarily copy the file that I want to diff into the working copy and then select both files and then diff them.
It would be much easier to be able to mark the file outside the working copy right away instead.

And yeah, +1 for "Mark for diff".
