Doc build intermediary results

Hi,

I noticed that the doc build creates intermediary files in the doc/source
tree. Do we really need these files there, or are they better created in
another folder? Like output/xml or something?

There is an 'svn:ignore *' on the source folder right now, even though there
are versioned files (css files etc.) and folders (dtd, en) in that tree as
well, which may receive content that does need to be versioned.
