Steps done:
1. I have a sparse checkout. Several folders are omitted from the root
level of it, and I needed to retrieve one of them from repository. So
I did the following:
2. In the root folder of this working copy I invoked Repository Browser.
3. I selected one omitted folder there and selected "Update item to
revision..." from context menu
4. In the Update... dialog I pressed "Choose items..." button.
5. A message box appeared saying that an exception occurred,

Subversion reported the following:
