The repository is contained in a database, which is what you see at file
level. You should never interact directly with these files, but always use a
SVN client.

Also be aware that accessing you repository using the file:// protocol is
not recommended if that repository is stored on a network and will be
accessed by multiple users. Set up a SVN server for that.
