I think one of the problem lies in the double negation. We programmers
tend to use boolean logic even when we write text :)

If we changed "Hide unrelated changed paths" into "Show only changed
paths" or "Show only affected paths", we have a positive option instead
of double negative.

Unchecked - show no "unrelated" paths.
Half - show all paths and highlight unrelated paths in grey.
Checked - show all paths without highlighting.

Am I allowed to ask the question why we have three states at all? Half
checked provides all information: a) it shows all paths b) it highlights
them. "Checked" reduces the information again.
IMHO we could drop the third state and go with unchecked/checked, where
checked shows all paths with highlighting. Unless someone can convince
me that we really need three states off course.
