What about my original idea? Make the revert dialog have a tick box to show
unversioned AND ignored items, and allow the user to select those items.
Pressing OK will delete those items. Additionally, pressing OK could spawn a
confirmation dialog to make this behavior clear to the user:

"You have selected unversioned/ignored items. These items will be deleted
from the filesystem. Proceed?"

That seems pretty ideal to me.
