Is Tortoise SVN right for me?

Hi,

I'm looking for a document configuration tool to store files in a hard drive. The requirements are:

- This tool has be able to hold at least 10k files (word, excel, pdf...)
- Works in windows
- Need a machine to host
- Has document protections (for different users to check in and out)
- Version control
- Can be supported on a network
- User friendly

From what I read from the features and FAQ, this seems to be the right tool. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
