It might be a problem with OS locale, yes. But I'm not sure since I
can't reproduce it (and I can't switch to Japanese or Korean locale,
because when I do I can't use Windows anymore since I can't read those
glyphs at all).

I'm currently running the nightly build, should be finished in two
hours. I've committed a change in r16145 which *might* solve this
problem. Can you please test this nightly build and report back?
As I said, it should be online in about two hours - that's the time it
takes for the build to finish...
