Hi John,

Are you subscribed to the dev list? I keep forgetting to CC you...

8-bit, not 4-bit. No need to support 16 colour graphics anymore :)

And AFAICT the 256x icon is only needed in 32-bit.

I don't know of any other resolutions that we need. If Stefan doesn't intervene now, we stay with the seven sizes that I mentioned.

Just to make sure that we talk about the same thing here:
256x 48x 32x and 16x means that the overlay may only use a portion (roughly a quarter) of the available space. The overlay should be - relatively - smaller at the bigger sizes and bigger at the smaller sizes.

Example:
256x Overlay: 60x (or even 48x)
48x Overlay: 20x (<1/4)
32x Overlay: 16x (=1/4)
16x Overlay: 9x (>1/4)

But this is my personal optinion/taste. The Overlay icons designed by Stefan use more space (eg. 30x on an 48x Background) which is IMHO too much, because it covers too much of the main icon.

I want to see your overlays in action before I will say anything about them. I'm currently copying your two samples into my editor to try them out :)

A butt at "real resolution" would distract me too much from my work, provided it's a pretty one :D
