I could imagine that there are needs for 256x256 bitmaps. (I'm not using
Vista neither at home nor in any vmware yet). And I didn't testes Tsvn 1.5
on a xp machine. So for my single Win2K (vm) machine I could copy my
favorite icon set to its parent folder. But this will be even harder if I
would like to achieve this on my teammate XP machines too.

For the bitmaps itself, unfortunately I'm not a designer and I'm not
experienced in shell extension icons so I couldn't help you with automatic
and handcrafted icon mix. What I proposed to do is a patch for setup files
and provide the icon set (which is also in svn too).
