I did test with the nightly r12406.

The invalid node disappeared. But nothing is selected is this case
while opening a repository on local drive selects the root initially.

Also, I noticed that the URL shown in the top box is different to
the URL in the tree view. This can be found in the screen shot I
sent. (The yen-sign in the tree view is the glyph of backslash on
Japanese locale.)

Now the button opens Browse for Folder dialog for both forms. I
think it should open repo-browser for both forms.
