<tounge in cheek> I would be more inclined to fly to the other side of the world and with high velocity place a baseball bat within a close proximity of your body should crapware be bundled with what is a most excellent work of art.
On the other hand - you shouldn't starve as well, in a ideal world you would be getting enough income coming in to work on TSVN full time.
Seriously look at how Rick Brewster from Paint.NET does it.
He uses a mixture of things, advertising on his website, all help is web-based, a discrete 'donate' button in different parts of the application. I am not entirely certain how 'self supporting' Paint .NET is however he does get lots of donations when he does a release.
You are both OSS projects, and you are both the Primary contributor to your own Huge projects.
Read his blog, drop him an email I am sure both of you have lots to compare notes on.
Maybe an idea is a licence fee for corporate use ? Developers already spend mega-bucks on tools I am sure a couple of hundred for major version upgrades wouldn't hurt too much.

 Hi,
As you guys may know, TSVN has become quite popular and therefore gets noticed also by marketing companies.
Now, what do you guys think about that? I haven't decided anything yet, because I'm not really comfortable with this myself - but it's tempting.
 Stefan
