Yes. This is a known issue. The necessary cache updating code
is already available on the log caching development branch.
However, addtional code changes have been made (e.g. cache
merge tracking info as well which needs to be updated, too).
That makes is hard to merge the the update code separately
from the other changes.

No, it has not been lost. However, I don't think I will
finish the work there before late September.
