You're not the only one hating it :)
There's so much broken (and I really mean broken, not just inconvenient
like the UAC) in Vista that I think they should have waited at least
another 6 months before they went to market with it. I myself had to
report three bugs already in the shell APIs (they all were dismissed as
'by design' - but if an API suddenly doesn't work the same way as before
even though neither the documentation nor the name of the API changed,
then it *is* a bug, no matter what MS tells me).
I hope you haven't been hit by the infamous "slow file copying" bug
that's reported all over the internet - that one can really make you
mad, especially if you have to get a job done in time, but it takes two
hours to copy 10 files with 1GB in total from one folder to another.
So, lets hope it will get better once SP1 comes out - until then I will
have a new laptop and Vista preinstalled there too, so no more XP for me
then either :(
