I ran into a corner case today.
Scenario:
- checkout a working copy using a 1.3.x client
- call "Show Log"

The error message says "Can't check path '\ttp:\tortoisesvn.tigris.org
\svn\tortoisesvn\trunk\www': Die Syntax für den Dateinamen,
Verzeichnisnamen oder die Datenträgerbezeichnung ist falsch."

Note: the URL is missing the leading "h" of "http:"

Updating the working copy before calling "Show Log" actually fixes the
problem.
