TortoiseBlame feature, color background of lines based upon age

It would be super cool if tortoiseBlame were to have a feature where
lines had their background colored based upon their age from the
newest revision. I saw this feature on emacs a while back and it was
pretty useful. Recently modified lines were colored red since they
were 'hot' and as lines got older the colors would move towards blue
since they were 'colder'.

I looked a little at implementing this feature but wanted to make sure
that someone else with more experience wasn't going to pick it up
first and also to get it into the issue tracker if it seems like a
worthwhile feature to have.
