Vista folder icon overlays missing

Hi guys,

I was having a problem on Vista that isn't mentioned in the FAQ, so it must
be something that does not always occur, maybe even a one-off.

I know that I had proper folder and item icon overlays showing up in
explorer on Vista final some time in January, but I had that cache
related explorer crash problem. A later build seemed to fix it, except that
I had no icon overlays at all since then.

It is a little like being blind in one eye :-)

I didn't pursue it and chalked it up to a bug (I don't know anyone else on
Vista who is using TSVN to compare notes with), but after a month with no
mention of it in the issue tracker I decided it must be me...

I noticed that TSVNCache.exe was not showing up in my process list. I
couldn't find any setting that would have made it go away, and repeated
uninstalls and reinstalls were no help, including the latest nightly.
Finally I went on a hunt through the registry and killed anything with
'tortoisesvn' in it, and I did run across what appeared to be the full
settings for TSVN. Unfortunately I did not look closely or try removing
things in steps, so I can't really tell you what I killed that did it.
Hopefully you've already had a lightbulb go off just from hearing about the
issue.

We've had to fix all kinds of wacky Vista induced issues with our apps,
especially around install/uninstall and updates, mysterious moving links
etc. Fun fun.

We absolutely love TSVN here. You're on our list of people who get fabulous
prizes if we ever get funded :-)

Thanks
-J
