RFE: Display log messages in repo-browser

I have played with recent two-panel repobrowser mode, and I generally like it.
However, I think that the most useful thing that could be displayed in
the right pane is not file list, but log messages from the last
commits on selected path.
This would save much "Show log" clicking during branch selection.
I understand that this is a performance hit, so I suggest two things:
1) Select only a few last messages, perhaps 10 is enough.
2) Make it optional -- e.g. add a checkbox "Display log messages",
and, when checked, split right pane horizontally in two parts, with
files in upper one and messages in lower.
