Thanks Stefan. The thing is, I don't remember running any application
explicitly after I first installed TortoiseSVN. I just use TortoiseSVN via the
right-click menu in Windows Explorer.

I've read how Windows Installer will update an existing user's registry via
the "repair" feature when an "advertized" shortcut is run. Is this what is
happening?
