using commits by date graph for abstract painting :-)

Hello,

the commits by date graph only works correctly when the log messages
are sorted by descending revision number. Other sort orders lead to
really weird graphs.

I must admit that some sort orders produce really beautyful paintings
and others are quite good screensavers when run against a full log of
the apache project :-)
