cache and overlays on network drives

Hi,

After upgrading my SVN server and TortoiseSVN to 1.4.0, I've been
noticing lots of incorrect overlay behavior on versioned files shared
over (SMB) network drive.

It's hard to pinpoint a single problem, because the overlays seem very
rarely to be correct, even when hitting F5, etc. Here are a few common
problems:
  - Newly created files and folders appear immediately with the "in
version control, unmodified" (green checkbox) overlay.
  - Modified files in the directory tree don't bubble the "modified"
status up to enclosing directories.
  - Sometimes modified files still show the "unmodified" overlay -- even
though I can right click and view a diff of the changes, etc.
Refreshing changes nothing, nor does the problem fix itself over time
(thinking that caching is running slowly/low-priority).

I am using the default cache settings. I've tried changing those, but
that didn't make anything better -- and after reading the documentation,
it seems that "default" is what I want. I have been using TortoiseSVN
with this same network drive scenario with great success from versions
1.2.x onward. Until now.

I apologize if this has been reported. I was unable to find an open
ticket describing this issue.

Thanks,
Hans
