Request: Bringing back the log messages combo box

Hi all,

In the very first versions of TortoiseSVN, in the commit window, there
was a combo box listing the previous messages, just like TortoiseCVS was
doing and keeps doing.
Starting with version 1.3 (or around), this combo box was replaced by a
button which opens a dialog with a list of those messages. This looks
very cumbersome to me as I have to click the button, click the message,
click ok to finally get it.
Why was the combo removed? It was so much easier to either go into it
with the keyboard, or in two simple clicks get the desired message.
I can understand that some people prefer it the way it is now, but I
think choice should be left to users. How about having the button and
right beside it the combo box. This way, people willing to use the
"dialog" approach can do it, and those like me who want the combobox can
still have it.
I have looked around a bit and did not find such a request. But if it's
already there, then consider this a "reminder shot" <g>

Cheers
Olivier Sannier
