That's usually touted as a feature.
Single-Sign-On and all that..

That's what I'm interested in, use cases.

I can't immediately see a good use case, but then again,
I'm strictly a corporate user working with svn within the corporation.

I don't understand that issue, but then again I don't
understand that setup or why anyone would use it.

Do you have an archive link where I can read more about the problem?

What's the reason for the lack of a password prompt?
Should be a no-brainer to prompt for a password when given a 401..
