Mmm... I must be kinda stupid, because I still don't understand :-)

The method you mentioned was exactly the method I used to create the
patch file in the first place. But I noticed that it didn't work (new
folders don't get added to the patch file) and I asked a question about
it. And then you reply to that question by repeating the procedure of
how to create a patch file... :-) How on Earth would that be an answer
to my question... ;-)
