dialog appears when typing commit message

After making changes to a file, I right click on it and select "SVN
Commit...".

While I'm typing a log message for this commit, another dialog box
appears. I'm in the middle of typing, so either pressing a space bar or
some other letter (maybe O for OK?) immediately dismisses this dialog
before I can even read the text and decide how to respond.

After entering the log message, another dialog box appears requesting
authentication against the HTTPS SVN repository. It seems likely this
is what the first message was about as well.

This is not a very good user behavior. Non-critical dialog boxes should
not appear while the user is typing.
