I might be able to shed some light on the missing icons saga. (F5 and
all that).
I have a small(ish) repository with three folders at the root checked
out and updated to head.
My recipe for inducing the problem is thus:-
Checkout the whole repository to a local WC folder.
Delete all the project folders (Trunk, Branches, Tags locally, not from
the repo) and leave the .svn folder intact.
Update, to recreate and populate the folders.
Only the first folder gets the green tick icon.

No amount of waiting or F5-ing will induce the icon to appear. (What an
appropriate first letter).
Now my educated guess is that the cache is receiving notification about
the first folder and things get rather busy and it's missing out on
notification of the remaining folders, or something to that effect. I
can only surmise things because I don't know the real sequence of event.

I seem to recall (well maybe dreamed) some discussion about a time delay
before running the cache or TortoiseProc.
So, if you do have a time delay then maybe before you kick start
whatever happens when the timer expires then perhaps the timer should be
restarted on every notification from Explorer until Explorer goes quiet
(and file/folder change notifications stop coming in) then kick-off the
time delayed work.

Hope this makes sense.
If you want the repo I would have to send it privately and not bung up
everybody's inbox.

Peter
