Close Dialog Checkbox

Occasionally, when I do a large update, I'd like to keep the window up
to look at the changes. Typically, however, I don't care to see all of
my dialog boxes. I'd like to have one of two things (or both): more
dialog box options for when to show/hide them and/or a checkbox that
allows you to keep a dialog box open (or close it), which would override
the default value.
 
Does anyone else have any opinions on this?
