Not a bug, so please don't put 'Bugreport' in the title ;-)

I don't think we can tell how long the diff will take as it depends on
the remote server load and network delays. It might be possible to show
one of the Windows 'Copying file' animations, but there are delays all
over the place, such as when fetching log messages, and mostly they are
indicated only by the cursor. I always expect server operations to be
slow, so I never worry about it.
