Everything seems to work alright except for the line closing word. It should
be a function call. Modified version attached.

I have also converted the merge-script to JScript. (Ahh. The syntactic
relief.)

More testing is obviously needed (Davide, Ronny?), but it seems to run fine
for me.

Btw, is someone sitting with an even older Word version? (Pre 2000) It would
be interesting to see the results there.
