Another scenario occurs when I locally modify vendor code and merge
vendor updates to trunk then create a new modified "Release". Ideally
the "committing changes warning" should also pop up for other uses as
well so I guess properties are the way to communicate this status. (If
properties can be applied at the directory level).
Otherwise one would need to do a laborious locking exercise to
communicate the untouchable status of the releases.
