Mainly the latter and just for the moment. The installation .bat
file is surprisingly simple and includes platform tests etc.

My main reason for not using .msi right now (except for the time
to set it up) is that I don't know, yet, how to write 64 bit
registry keys from a 32 bit application. The ones from the std.
.msi installer get redirected into WOW64Root sub-folders.
