thank you for the explanation, I am sure that there are valid technical
reason for this, however it is not very clear from the documentation.
If I look at the explanation on saving files from the log windows I have:
From the help
The top pane of the Log dialog has a context menu that allows you to
....
* Save the selected revision to a file so you have an older version of
that file. This option is only available when you access the log for a
file, and it saves a version of that one file only.
May I suggest that the above mentioned limitation be added to the
documentation:

This is only possible if the selected file has not been renamed or
deleted since the selected revision.
