Just my 0.02€ fot this thread. I remember that discussion about "crazy
colour" settings from a while ago and could/should have jumped in at that
time.

I have worked at a company that produces electronic aids for visually
impaired and blind people (Largeprint, speech output, braille displays,
electronic magnifiers) for almost six years and I - naturally - had a dozen
low vision colleagues. You can't imagine what "crazy" screen colour settings
visually impaired people use. Colours that hurt your eyes or mine are "high
contrast" to them.

This might even change during the day, as the eyes get tired or the ambient
lighting changes. Yellow on blue in the morning looks nice to you and me as
well, but it might equally become red on pink in the afternoon with the
magnification set so high, that you can only see 10x4 characters on a 20"
monitor. And even then the nose is only 10 cm away from the screen while
reading.

I know only a fraction of the TSVN users are affected by this problem, but
Stefan, if you find an easy solution to get rid of hardcoded colours, just
do it.

BTW, the "Dialogs" sheet on the settings page is quite full anyway, How
about adding some more pages:
