It's not quite that bad. At the moment the only place where it is always
on is the merge dialog. Everywhere else it is always off. So if the
merge dialog keeps always-on and other places use the last setting it
would work.

Also, the revised dialog has a Next 100 button. So if the box is checked
by mistake, you can just uncheck and get the next 100. You don't have to
wait 20 minutes for a Get All to complete.
