Thats fair enough. My reason for asking was that it is just a bit of a
sanity check if it shows what files have changed if you are doing a
branch from a working copy, not because I wanted to stop files going on
to the branch. I realise you can see these by doing a check for
modifications before, just thought it might be more consistent to show
what files would be sent as modified.

But as Simon said, for most people, it would not be necessary as they do
a branch from repo rather than wc.
