Hmmm, I don't think they need a new server, but just update their
existing one ;) So:

That's not quite correct. Pre-1.2 clients won't even work anymore, at
least if the repository uses the BDB and not FSFS (due to the update to
BDB4.3). So I think this should be:

Warning: if you have a team of users all accessing a repository via
file://, then all users must use 1.2 clients. Pre-1.2 clients will
unknowingly ignore locks. If it's a BDB repository, then old clients
can't access the updated repository anymore.

I'd rather say here:
This means that the status you see immediately may not be recursive but
the non-recursive status.
