I think I haven't :-)
I'd like to move it into the CMS over time, but it can stay there. For me it
doesn't make a big difference whether I edit the html locally and hit 'cvs
ci' or whether I log into a cms and edit or paste the html there.

Again, that's all that I want.

Hey, I spent 87.5% of my life in the last century, but I'm a dynamic, not a
static person. That's why I want to generate the FAQ pages dynamically
(read: from a database).

[1] Are you *really* sure it made things worse? Remember that the 1.1.5
Release had around 53.000 downloads? We had 442 Messages which contain
"TortoiseSVN - FAQ" in the subject line since October 2004. 222 of the
messages are replies. That gives us 220 questions in six months. One point
something per day. Not much compared to at least 50.000 users, probably a
lot more.

I did, but most of the times Steve was quicker...

Amen. Exactly what I'm preaching.

One of the advantages is that people now have to ask directly on the list,
so there's no need to erase non-FAQs. And Steve can still be rude if he
feels like it ;-)

See [1] above. Don't forget that TortoiseSVN is gaining a lot of popularity.
In May 2004 we had around 20.000 downloads of installers. In December 2004
we had around 40.000. In April 2005 we had >50.000.

You can't really tell how much time the online FAQ is actually saving us,
but I claim it's a lot.

Agreed, so am I.

Yep :-)

It's Ok to look for flaws in a suggestion and discuss them, but I don't like
worst case assumptions all over the place.

Cheers
