Just to follow up on my own message, after checking out a clean copy of
<file:///C:/SVN_Repo_TCB2/trunk/rlc_345>, I was able to make a branch
called <file:///C:/SVN_Repo_TCB2/branches/ss2005-03-18/rlc_345> and update
my working copy to it without any of the trouble I had when trying to
create the branch <file:///C:/SVN_Repo_TCB2/branches/SS-base,
2005-03-18/rlc_345> and update to it (I think I left off the last part of
that URL in my previous message). It also did it without any status
messages about "copying" each of the files, as I reported before (more on
that below).
I need to clear up a couple of inaccuracies in what I reported before. I
tried to duplicate the problem by creating another branch with a
comma-space in it. The branch got created quickly (as expected, and unlike
what I reported before), but switching into it caused all of the files to
be re-added two directories below where they originally were. In other
words, the "adding" or "copying" messages (I can't remember which) happened
when I did the update, not when I created the branch. I still don't know
why it put the files in that sub-subdirectory.
A third test making and switching into a branch with a comma and space in
the name but without the extra directory level didn't seem to cause the
problem. The problem only occurred when I used the repository viewer to
create a directory under branches that contained a comma and space, then
created a branch below that directory. It did not show up when I just
created a branch with a comma and space. Adding the extra directory level
was probably a silly thing for me to do in the first place :)
