It seems to work for me. I have done a couple of reboots to test it.

There is still some odd behavior in general in the decorators, I imagine
that those are the problems you have been trying to fix. First, I always
use a "My Computer" type view where I do not have separate tree view
showing me folders. I open a shortcut to a folder that contains several
WC's. They all decorate correctly. Let's say 2 of them show modified.
Later, I open that shortcut again and only one of the two shows modified.
I drilled into the one that was modified before, and see that it has
sub-folders that show modified. Now I go back up to the main level and it
shows modified, but the other one doesn't. I then drill-down into that
one, see modified subfolders and move back up. Nothing changes.

Can I reproduce at will? No, definitely not. It obviously must have
something to do with the timeout. To be honest, after the most recent
reboot I have not seen these problems. Just want to let you know.

Another odd side-effect of the cache is that the overlays are set
asynchronous with the display of the folder. This has some bad
side-effects. Namely, when the icon updates, sometimes Windows will
reposition the list to the top item. I was working with someone yesterday
that was editing some graphics using that XP view that shows thumbnails in
a film-strip with one big image above it. Every time they modified
something the list would flip back to the beginning. I have seen similar
behavior when browsing back to my C:\ drive. I suspect there is nothing
we can do about this.

Mark
